ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The annual Girdwood Forest Fair continued to be a massive draw in its 51st year, bringing in attendees, musicians, and vendors of all types and disciplines.
“This is my most wonderful working event,” jeweler Leah Sturgis, a twenty-year Forest Fair veteran, said. “I don’t feel like I’m working when I’m here. I’m just here, seeing old friends, sharing what I’ve been up to, and it’s always a successful event for me, business-wise and community-wise.”
The Forest Fair is a free, family event in the resort town of Girdwood, about 36 miles south of Anchorage, featuring Alaskan artists, hand-crafted items, food vendors and entertainers from around the state. The fairgrounds are located at Mile 2.2 on the Alyeska Highway in the community park area…
