A mother-daughter team who formerly lived in Alaska is returning with a workout studio guaranteed to thaw chilled muscles even in the midst of winter. Tracey Pidge and Ciara Boyce are bringing HOTWORX, a 24-hour infrared sauna fitness franchise, to five locations across Alaska, beginning with a studio that will open this fall in Wasilla.
“Alaska winters are long and dark, and we know firsthand how much that affects people,” Pidge says. “HOTWORX gives our members a place to feel warmth, energy, and community during the months when that is hardest to find. Bringing that home to Alaska means everything to us.”
Hottest Fitness Trend
HOTWORX combines infrared heat with isometric and high-intensity interval training in a 24-hour studio model. Each location offers several small saunas—the Wasilla location will have eight, each of which accommodates three people—in which members can combine the benefits of infrared heat with 30-minute isometric workouts or 15-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions. Hot yoga, hot Pilates, and hot cycle sessions, led by a virtual instructor, can be booked through an app and attended 24 hours a day.
