ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The heftiest pumpkin was crowned Monday afternoon at the Alaska State Fair with a familiar name attached to it.
Dale Marshall of Anchorage once again grew the largest pumpkin for the annual weigh-off, a gourd that tipped the scales at 1,436 pounds.
It’s not Marshall’s biggest pumpkin ever — he owns the state record of 2,147 pounds set at the 2022 state fair — but it does extend his remarkable streak of fair victories; it’s the ninth straight year and 15th overall that Marshall has claimed the pumpkin weigh-off title.
