‘I say thank you and then their heads fall off’: Life, death and love, raising quails in Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Annie Ciszak may have the perfect way to describe a quail: “They’re super chill, they just want to hang out in their little rabbit hutch. They lay a ton of eggs, more than chickens, and they’re just like dopey little potatoes.”

She loves them so much a quail portrait became her newest tattoo alongside poppy and peony flowers.

“Very quickly we turned into the bird people,” Ciszak said…
