Jury awards inmate $800K after finding Alaska DOC negligent

The Alaska Department of Corrections will pay roughly $800,000 to inmate Jonathan Pace after an Anchorage jury found the department negligent in connection with a serious injury he suffered at a halfway house.

Pace fell from a top bunk while staying at the halfway house, suffering a traumatic brain injury. He also had a history of seizures before the fall.
