Despite three heart attacks and two strokes — Anchorage man plans to tackle Heart Run on Saturday

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Any way you look at it, Paul Rotkis is a survivor. The Anchorage resident who recently turned 59, has suffered three heart attacks and two strokes in the last 21 years. Amazingly, Rotkis is still on his feet.

Rotkis’s second heart attack may have brought him closest to death. It happened in May of 2021.

“I was riding my bike to work, which I normally do, and I felt a little light-headed,” Rotkis said. “I didn’t feel dizzy, but things were gray and I was starting to get tunnel vision.”…
