Two Anchorage residents were arrested Tuesday afternoon after Alaska State Troopers say a reckless-driving complaint escalated into a high-speed pursuit through Soldotna, with the vehicle reaching more than 100 mph before troopers disabled it near Mile 79 of the Sterling Highway.
The incident began around 2:55 p.m., when Soldotna troopers received the first of several REDDI reports concerning a tan 2002 Chevrolet Impala near Mile 59.5. Callers reported the car was being driven recklessly and had nearly caused multiple collisions.
Troopers later located the vehicle near Mile 90 and attempted a traffic stop, but say the driver refused to yield and continued south toward Soldotna at high speed…
