Lingering showers progress in Alaska’s Southern coast as focus shifts to the next storm

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – If you’re sick of rain in your forecast, don’t fret; the end is in sight! Sunshine is expected to return by week’s end in Southcentral to Southeast. Until then, rain will continue through your Tuesday for many Gulf locations, with drier skies by evening in Anchorage.

Another round of heavy rainfall is continuing in Prince William Sound with 0.25–0.5 inches of rain in the forecast from Whittier to Cordova. In the Mat-Su Valley, you’ll see 0.1–0.2 inches of rain as showers stay fairly scattered through your Tuesday. In Anchorage, patchy fog is likely on your morning commute, along with rain tapering off by the early afternoon hours. While Wednesday looks slightly drizzly, sunnier skies are in the forecast by Thursday heading into Saturday.
