Assembly passes additional cold weather emergency shelter funding, pushes Girdwood subdivision vote

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage Assembly voted to fund additional cold weather sheltering Tuesday night for homeless residents in the city. Another hotly-debated topic – the much-publicized proposal for the Girdwood “Holtan Hills” housing development – was decided by Assembly members to be pushed to a vote Wednesday night at 5 p.m., following lengthy public testimony.
