ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Shiver me timbers! The word of the day is brrrr, as in “Brrrr it’s colder than a brass toilet seat in the Yukon!”. The coldest stretch of weather we’ve seen in a few years continues to spill into Alaska. While January started with temperatures hovering above average, a shift in our weather pattern has led to the coldest January Anchorage has seen since 2020. With the cold weather expected to stay with us as we close out the month, this will be the first time since 2020 that Anchorage will end the month with below-average temperatures.
