Anchorage’s new housing-first program underway, moving 50 people out of shelter so far

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A new housing-first initiative for homeless individuals in Anchorage is gaining steam. According to the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness, the Next Step Pilot Program is well on the way to achieving its goal of transitioning 150 people out of cold weather shelters into more permanent housing by the summer.
