ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Jonathan Hayes is the owner of the Poland Springs Seppala Kennels in Maine. His kennel is made up of dogs of the Seppala Siberian Husky breed. Hayes says his dogs are registered descendants of Leonhard Seppala’s dog team that participated in the life-saving serum run to Nome in 1925.
