Paula Abdul cancels tour to undergo surgery for injuries: ‘This truly breaks my heart’

Paula Abdul has canceled her tour after sustaining “some injuries.”

The “Opposites Attract” hitmaker had been due to perform in Anchorage, Alaska, later this month before embarking on her month-long Straight Up! To Canada concert series but has now apologized to fans after learning she needs to undergo surgery and will require a long period of recovery, meaning she can’t play the shows.

Abdul — who was also due to perform in Fargo, ND, on Oct. 12 amid her Canadian dates — announced on Instagram Wednesday, “It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I need to share with you an update regarding some injuries I’ve recently sustained. In an effort to keep going, I’ve received targeted injections that will allow me temporary relief, but the demands of an entire tour is a different story.
