Assembly briefed on city’s winter shelter plans to house homeless in 4 locations

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage Assembly responded to the municipality’s plan for its winter shelter plans in a Friday morning meeting at City Hall. Farina Brown, Anchorage’s special assistant on homelessness, said in response to an anticipated 350-400 unsheltered people, the municipality will revive the Alex Hotel as a temporary noncongregate winter shelter.
