ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Known for having more bears than any other U.S. state, Alaska became a brief host to its fourth species Monday night. Two National Zoo-bound giant pandas – male Bao Li and female Qing Bao – touched down at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport at 10:07 p.m. Monday aboard a FedEx plane. The pair had an hour layover in Anchorage after spending the previous 10 hours crossing the Pacific Ocean from Chengdu, China, on a FedEx Boeing 777 nicknamed “The Panda Express.”
