In Anchorage, the city assembly has approved a contract with a company for winter shelter services. The vote was 8-2. The contract with Henning Inc. includes $3.7 million, which will be used to fund services from October 24 through April 30, 2025. Under the deal, Henning will offer 200 beds daily at three shelters: the Alex Hotel, the Merrill Field Inn, and the Henry House.
