Beached fin whale in Anchorage to be displayed in Wasilla Museum

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A fin whale that washed ashore near Anchorage’s Tony Knowles Coastal Trail in November will soon find its permanent home in the Wasilla Museum.

The nearly 50-foot-long whale — believed to be a young female — attracted thousands of onlookers.

“If a whale can bring us all together, that’s fantastic,” said Wasilla Museum CEO James Grogan. “Let’s let her keep teaching us and learning from her.”…
