ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Snow is sticking around the forecast, even as warmer temperatures are coming. The vernal, or spring equinox occurs Thursday, marking the traditional start to Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and triggering the start of Fall in the southern hemisphere.
Over the central and eastern Beaufort Sea Coast, a winter weather advisory will go into effect Wednesday, going through Wednesday night. Winds are going to gust up to 50 mph creating wind chills from 45 to 55 degrees below zero.
And heavy snowfall will result in a winter storm waring for the Haines highway, beyond mile marker 28. Snowfall of 3 to 8 inches is anticipated. Travel will be difficult…
