The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) is expanding its Hospitality Opportunities for People (Re)Entering Society (HOPES) program to help young adults with justice involvement build careers in the restaurant and hospitality industries. Thanks to a $5.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Growth Opportunities program, the initiative will reach over 425 young adults across Anchorage, AK; Denver, CO; Bridgeport, CT; Dover, Georgetown, and Wilmington, DE; Flint, MI; and Pittsburgh, PA.

The program, supported by local restaurant associations and community partners, offers industry-focused training, mentorship, leadership development, and paid work experiences. According to NRAEF President Rob Gifford, the goal is to help these individuals see their potential in the industry.

Since its launch, HOPES has trained over 1,200 participants, with over 60% securing industry jobs. Learn more at ChooseRestaurants.org/HOPES.
