Weak front to bring light snow and freezing drizzle to parts of Western Alaska this weekend

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Our stretch of quieter weather remains with us for both Southcentral and Southeast, although a bit more cloud coverage is streaming back into Southcentral. While the vast majority of Southern Alaska remains on the warmer side, cooler weather is returning to parts of the state. The Interior is expected to see highs the next few days remaining nearly 10 to 15 degrees below the warmest high this week.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

While a ridge remains out west, an upper level trough has settled in across the rest of Alaska. This is driving in some cooler conditions to Southcentral, of which we’ll feel as the weekend arrives. This morning we are seeing cloud streaming into Southcentral, with moisture moving into the region from the Gulf of Alaska. While we’ll largely stay on the dry side today, showers will increase for Prince William Sound through the late afternoon and into the evening.
