ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – From tiny to large moon-like craters, potholes can be a pain when winter conditions transition to spring.
According to the Department of Transportation, potholes are created through the thawing and freezing cycles. This, the DOT reports, allows water to expand under the pavement and causes holes to grow.
To report a pothole on Anchorage municipality-owned roads, people can call the muni’s pothole hotline at 907-343-6363. According to the muni, it aims to fill every reported pothole within 24 hours of it being reported on weekdays…
