The Anchorage community is in mourning after the loss of a beloved resident reindeer. Star the Reindeer, a local favorite, has been euthanized following a period of illness.
This news comes just weeks after an attempted kidnapping of the animal. Surveillance footage captured an individual jumping the fence around Star’s pen last month and letting the reindeer loose on 10th Street.
