ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage saw another record snowfall dump on Thursday, with nearly 6 inches of new snow blanketing town. Thursday’s 5.7 inches of snowfall follows Monday’s record of about 5 inches and last week’s two record highs. Expect a slow return to springtime warmth into next week.

Ongoing light snow showers remain this morning, although the activity is beginning to lighten up. As of Thursday, Anchorage is officially sitting at 27.7 inches of snow for the spring season, nearly an inch more than fell during autumn. This is also six times more snow than the winter season. If Anchorage adds 3.7 inches before the end of our snow season, it will be only the fourth time in recorded history that Alaska’s largest city has seen more snow in spring than winter and autumn combined…
