As rain departs, sunshine and warmth return for Mother’s Day weekend

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Light rain showers are still falling for inland areas of Southcentral Alaska as an upper-level low moves south of the Alaska Range overnight.

While the rain has primarily focused on the Mat-Su, some rain showers have fallen as far south as northern parts of the Kenai Peninsula. Rain will gradually lighten up for Southcentral, with more rain expected to build into Southeast. It’s likely Southeast could see a couple of inches of rain by Sunday morning.
