ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Young cyclists of varying ages and skill levels brushed up on their riding skills as summer creeps up at the 3rd annual Bike Rodeo in Anchorage Saturday.
From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Anchorage Parks and Recreation and the Anchorage Health department held the event. Attendees got the chance to ride through various obstacle courses, get bike tune-ups and potentially win a free bike.
“We want to make sure that they know how to interact with traffic, how to interact with stop lights, how to interact with signs and make sure that they’re able to travel safely around town,” said Anchorage Parks and Recreation organizer Ellen Devine, “because we want them to be able to get all over the place, not just by vehicle with like a car, but also get around with non-motorized transportation.”…
