Anchorage nature walk teaches wildflower ID, invasive species awareness

A group of outdoor enthusiasts took a guided nature walk in Anchorage this week to learn about Alaska’s wildflowers, just in time for Invasive Species Awareness Week.

Led by the team at the Campbell Creek Science Center, participants were taught how to identify which wildflowers are currently in bloom and how to distinguish native plants from invasive ones. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of plant biodiversity and the threats posed by non-native species.
