ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — After a warm Father’s Day weekend, cloud cover rolls into Anchorage cooling down temperatures into the low 60s with overnight lows sitting in the 40’s.
There is potential for scattered showers and wet conditions overnight Monday and Tuesday that will take over the coastal regions of Southcentral Alaska as a low-pressure system sits over the Gulf.
Up north, the contrary is true with a ridge of high pressure bringing close to record temperatures near the interior with heat advisories and red flag warnings across the region. Dry conditions and wind gusts up to 25 mph increase the risk of fire danger, so take extra precautions when around dry vegetation.
- Interior seeing warmer temps (heat advisory, red flag warning)
- Chance of showers with overnight lows into the 40s
- Low pressure system in Gulf of Alaska bringing storms and showers into coastal areas of Southcentral region and into the Panhandle
- Ridge/region of high pressure bringing warmer temps to Interior
- Southeast Alaska will return to warmer temps and sunny skies after week of rain and low pressure
- Warm up for anchorage furthering into the work-week
The southeast region is finally getting a taste of summer with a low-pressure system moving away, bringing sunshine and warmer temperatures this week…
