Anchorage makes a run at 70 degrees, with more scattered thunderstorm across Alaska

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Sunshine has returned to Southcentral, as our marine layer is no longer with us. This will pave the way for ample sunshine and warmth throughout the day. While additional thunderstorms will be possible today across the state, it will be far less than the robust thunderstorms we saw on Tuesday. Most areas will see thunderstorm activity greatly decreasing as the week draws to a close.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

Sunshine and warmth are gripping Southcentral today, with either today or tomorrow bringing the best day for highs near 70 degrees. Anchorage has yet to officially hit the elusive 70-degree mark, with 68 being the warmest that we’ve been so far. It’s likely we’ll see Anchorage warm near, if not into the lower 70s, while areas of the Mat-Su Valley and Copper River Basin will be several degrees warmer.
