Family identifies cyclist killed in Anchorage DUI crash

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A cyclist killed in a DUI crash last week in Anchorage has been identified by his family as Radahámez Rodriguez Pérez, a man who had recently been granted legal status in the U.S. and was working to build a life in Alaska, according to the family.

Anchorage police said Pérez was hit and killed just after 9 p.m. Thursday by a Mazda SUV on C Street near 64th Avenue. The driver — identified by police as 40-year-old Stephanie Dill — was arrested and charged with manslaughter, DUI, reckless driving, bribery, and refusal to submit a chemical test.

Family members confirmed Pérez’s identity after days of uncertainty. They said he had dreamed of living in Alaska and had just received U.S. legal papers earlier in the week.
