Family of bicyclist hit and killed shares letters, as DUI/bribery suspect absent from hearing after posting bail

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The woman prosecutors say was driving under the influence when she hit and killed a cyclist last week, then allegedly offered an arresting officer a bribe, was absent from a court appearance Thursday, after court records show she posted a $10,000 bail.

Prosecutors say after Stephanie Dill, 40, left an Anchorage restaurant on June 19, she was speeding when she crossed a median and drove the wrong way on C street, hitting Radahámez Rodriguez Pérez as he rode his bicycle.

Family members who were in court Thursday say Pérez — a Mexican national working as an Anchorage waiter while also working to obtain American citizenship — died while speaking with his mother on the phone…
