ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Our area of low pressure is slowly building into the Gulf of Alaska, keeping rain in the forecast for both Southcentral and Southeast. While the rain won’t be widespread, we will see daily rain chances remaining with us, with heavier activity arriving into the weekend for both areas. While temperatures continue to remain cool, most of the state will see a gradual warming trend, although on the slower side, as we welcome in July.
SOUTHCENTRAL:
A low just south of Kodiak is leading to moisture streaming back in across the region. While most of the rain today will favor coastal areas, inland locations could still see a spotty to isolated shower. Gone is the sunshine, with cloudier skies already making a return to Southcentral. This will keep temperatures today slightly cooler than Wednesday or Thursday, as highs are only expected to warm into the upper 50s and lower 60s.
