Death toll of pedestrians/vehicle collisions reaches 10 this year

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage continues to see a spike in pedestrians fatally being hit by vehicles. From 2000 to 2025, the municipality has had a total of 194 people die from these types of collisions, with 30 of those deaths occurring since 2023.

The city says this comes after it saw the highest number of pedestrians killed by vehicles in 2024 in the past decade, with the largest number of those deaths occurring in September.
