Following raid, video shows Haines wildlife center owner traveling to Alaska zoo to check on animals

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A new video posted July 4 by Kroschel Film Wildlife Center owner Steve Kroschel, shows him traveling from Haines to the Alaska Zoo in Anchorage asking staff about animals that a search warrant obtained by Alaska’s News Source shows were seized in late June.

“Kitty!” Kroschel can be heard saying at one point on the video, referring to a grizzly bear that was seized from his wildlife center.

Last week the nonprofit’s executive director, Tristan Thon, confirmed that along with Kitty, the zoo had also received wolves, foxes and “a couple of other smaller species,” but declined to comment on their conditions or how many of Kroschel’s animals that zoo staff are caring for…
