Cold front draped across the state driving in cooler air and heavy rain for Interior

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Gone is the ridge across the state, and in its place is troughing across Alaska. This trough of cooler air is leading to many seeing temperatures 20-plus degrees cooler than last week. Some of the coolest air continues to grip the Interior north to the Slope.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

A breezy day is expected for Southcentral, as an area of low pressure moves into the Gulf of Alaska. While not everyone will see winds, they will largely favor the gaps and passes across Southcentral. Max winds will likely peak around 35 to 40 mph throughout the day. Locations that will see the highest wind speeds will be the Turnagain Arm, Knik River Valley and the Copper River Valley…
