ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) -Hundreds of military children in Anchorage got a head start on the school year Friday in an annual event organized by the nonprofit Operation Homefront.
Families on JBER from all branches of military service received backpacks filled with school supplies for grades K – 12. The backpacks, supplies and $25 gift cards inside were donated by Walmart which held the event in the parking lot of its Debarr store.
