‘Healing doesn’t happen in isolation’: Victims for Justice prepares to host annual ceremony

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – As Victims for Justice prepares to host its annual Homicide Memorial Ceremony this weekend in Anchorage, the non-profit’s Executive Director Suki Miller said she’s honored to continue to provide a space for people to remember those they’ve lost.

“It’s a beautiful memorial, and it just brings me joy and comfort to know that people have a place where they can come in community and be able to sit with just themselves or with whoever they bring with them to remember whoever they lost,” Miller said.

The memorial takes place at noon on Saturday at the Hostetler Park in Downtown Anchorage and is open to the public. Miller said the ceremony has been ongoing since the non-profit’s inception in the mid 80s…
