‘Resilience and Dedication’: UT Austin students set to arrive in Anchorage on Friday after 4,000-mile bike ride

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Alaska’s largest city will soon host students from the University of Texas in Austin, but they’re not arriving in the traditional way… they’ll be riding into Anchorage on their bikes following a 70-day bicycle ride. The bike ride, which emanated from Austin, is all in the name of the fight against cancer.

“Our tagline and something we have on all of our jerseys is ‘Fighting Cancer, Every Mile’,” Executive Director of Texas 4000 for Cancer, Dr. Beverly Hamilton said.

“It sort of mirrors the fight against cancer, right, there’s up and downs, there’s mountains, valleys.”…
