ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program (ANSEP) is hosting its STEM Ready program in Mat-Su elementary schools from July 22nd to July 24th. This is the first time the program has been hosted in the Mat-Su area.
STEM Ready gives students an opportunity to explore STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and math, with collaborative projects such as gummy bear engineering and a Hot Wheels lab.
“My favorite part about STEM Ready is that the kids get to do a ton of hands-on STEM activities. They get to do them with students that they haven’t worked with,” Anthony Yannarella, an ANSEP K-8 director, said. “We’re not grading them in anything.
