Bear alert closes Beach Lake Trails after moose calf kill

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Officials have closed trails at Beach Lake Park in Chugiak through Thursday following the discovery of a moose calf kill, according to a notice posted Monday by Eagle River/Chugiak Parks and Recreation.

A red “Bear Alert” sign was shared on social media, warning the closure was in effect for public safety. “There is a moose calf kill on the Beach Lake Trails,” the post stated. “The trails will be closed until Thursday. Please be safe.”
