ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage School District (ASD) welcomed students back to the classroom this week.
On Thursday, the first round of students returned to school for their first day of the school year. First through sixth and ninth graders had their first day of school on Thursday. All other grade levels, with the exception of Kindergarten, return to the classroom on Friday.
“We are excited about just welcoming the kids back, getting back into routines. I know that this year we have a lot of amazing things planned, both academically and behaviorally,” said Lori Rucksdashel, Chinook Elementary school principal. “Here at Chinook [elementary school], we are the King salmon and we are responsible, kind and safe.”…
