Fisherman waist-deep in mud, rescued from mudflats near Cook Inlet

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Girdwood Fire and Rescue spent Friday afternoon saving a solo fisherman who got himself caught in the mudflats near Ingram Creek, which is close to the Welcome to Kenai Peninsula sign.

According to Girdwood Fire and Rescue, the man was up to his waist in the mudflats. The crew raced against the incoming tide to save him.

By the time the man was back to safety, the spot where he had been stuck was underwater as the tide rolled in…
