‘Kind of like anxiety,’ Alaska’s Russians wait for Putin to arrive

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Mischa, which means little bear in Russian, growled suspiciously at the large black news camera shoved in her face.

“She’s 1 and a half year old, a grumpy teenager,” Lena Roik said about her little corgi while sitting inside her West Anchorage home.

Roik has lived in the United States for the past 7 years after leaving Russia with her two daughters. She wanted a different, safer life for them in Alaska…
