UAA gymnasts repeat as national GPA leaders

MARLBORO, N.J. (Aug. 18) – The Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team has made history for the second year in a row, repeating as the national leader in combined grade-point average in the Women’s Gymnastics Coaches Association’s annual team academic rankings.

With a 3.8950 mark, the Seawolves earned the highest combined GPA in the 11-year history of the awards, while placing among the top two nationally for the third time in four years.

“We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for once again setting the standard in the classroom,” said UAA head coach Marie-Sophie Boggasch. “Achieving the highest team GPA in the history of these rankings is a true testament to their commitment to excellence in every area of their lives.
