UAA knocks off #9 Chaminade in 5-set thriller

ANCHORAGE (Aug. 29) – Senior Tia Allen had 12 kills and the Alaska Anchorage volleyball team played a dominant fifth set Friday to outlast No. 9 Chaminade 26-24, 20-25, 25-23, 25-27, 15-7 in the Alaska/Hawaii Challenge, presented by Alaska Airlines.

The Seawolves (3-0) also got nine kills and seven block assists from freshman rightside hitter Bailee Tucker as they registered their first win over a ranked team under third-year head coach Stacie Meisner.

The Silverswords were led by 11 kills and 12 digs from outside hitter Lillie Hinton, but the defending Pacific West Conference champions were outhit .193 to .133 overall and .500 to -.154 in the final set…
