Seven displaced after fire damages Anchorage apartment building

Seven people are displaced after a fire damaged an apartment building on West 32nd Avenue in Anchorage.

According to the Anchorage Fire Department, staff at Merrill Tower noticed smoke rising from the multi-unit building and called for help. When firefighters arrived, a battalion chief quickly issued a second alarm, doubling the number of crews on scene.
