Anchorage fisherman killed in pot cod accident remembered as kind, uplifting friend

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A 27-year-old Anchorage fisherman was killed when heavy gear struck him aboard a commercial vessel, Alaska Wildlife Troopers said.

Troopers say they received a report around 9:45 p.m. Sept. 3 that Baxter Cox had been struck in the head while working aboard a fishing vessel.

Investigators determined Cox was attempting to untangle rope attached to a steel cod pot when the vessel’s pot shaker was lowered onto him…
