‘This is absolutely preventative healthcare’: 22nd annual Mini Heart Run teaches youth about heart health

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Providence Center for Child Development preschool students scurried around Providence Alaska Medical Center on Thursday during the 22nd annual Mini Heart Run, a run dedicated to encouraging youth to get active and move.

“Encouraging kids this young to start developing those important heart-healthy habits like structured movement and play time is all something that is going to help them to keep those well-being habits throughout their lives,” Chrissy Colucci, the Alaska executive director of the American Heart Association, said.
