ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Two dogs and three cats were killed in a fire at the Ravenwood Condominiums Friday morning, according to a press release from the Anchorage Fire Department.
The AFD was first notified about the fire at 3401 W 88th Ave at 1:04 a.m., said AFD Fire Marshal Brian Dean. A second alarm was requested due to the scope of the fire, bringing a total of 19 fire units to the scene, according to a press release from the AFD.
The fire was declared under control at 2:06 a.m., Dean said. It did not spread to any surrounding buildings. Crews continued with mop-up operations and locating any remaining hot spots afterwards.
The fire is believed to have been started on an exterior deck or balcony on the second floor, according to Dean. The AFD investigation unit is looking into the cause of the fire…
