Police release homicide details months after Anchorage man’s death

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage police have publicly released information about a July homicide nearly three months after the victim died. APD acknowledged Thursday that the case was not initially posted online, “because at the time, it was not a death investigation”.

Officers were dispatched to 2850 C St. around 9:52 p.m. on July 7, 2025, where they say they found an unresponsive man who appeared to have been assaulted. A report says medics with the Anchorage Fire Department performed life-saving measures before transporting him to a hospital.

On July 10, police say they were notified that the man, identified as 49-year-old Jason Ayojiak, had died from his injuries. Detectives questioned witnesses and opened an investigation, but officials say the case was not posted to the department’s online newsroom until Oct. 1…
