Anchorage Woman Arrested After Allegedly Passing Contraband at Seward Prison

An Anchorage woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly passing illegal contraband to an inmate during a visit to Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, according to an Alaska Department of Public Safety dispatch.

Troopers said the incident occurred on October 5 around 1:38 p.m., when 18-year-old Nalee Chao of Anchorage visited inmate Charles Sadler, 26, also of Anchorage. The visit was already under a joint investigation between Alaska State Troopers (AST) and Spring Creek Correctional Center staff.

According to the dispatch, investigators observed Chao passing contraband to Sadler during the visit. She was taken into custody at the facility and transported to Wildwood Pre-Trial Facility, where she was remanded on charges of Promoting Contraband in the First Degree and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the Fourth Degree…
